Description
The City of Beaumont is seeking enthusiastic, certified Group Fitness Instructors to deliver safe, engaging, and inclusive fitness classes for participants of varying ages and abilities. The successful candidate will promote healthy lifestyles, foster community connection, and provide high-quality instruction in a welcoming recreation environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and lead group fitness classes that are safe, effective, and engaging
Modify exercises to accommodate different fitness levels and physical abilities
Demonstrate proper technique and provide clear, motivating instruction
Ensure participant safety by following industry best practices and City policies
Set up and take down equipment before and after classes
Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants
Respond professionally to participant questions and feedback
Maintain current certifications and attend required training or meetings
Complete attendance records and required documentation as assigned
Requirements and qualifications
Minimum 18 years of age
Current Fitness Alberta Group Fitness Certification
Current CPR/AED and Standard First Aid certification
Experience instructing group fitness classes (preferred)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
Ability to lift and move fitness equipment as required
