Biography
Born in Belarus, I used to exercise only occasionally. Working out was never part of my daily routine. After moving to Canada, I immediately fell in love with skiing but found that I was not in the best shape to fully enjoy my backcountry adventures. I was sweating and panting while climbing up the mountains on my skis with my huge and heavy pack behind my back. So it was time to fix it. I purchased my gym membership and after a few years of intense working out I decided to challenge myself even more by pursuing a career of a fitness instructor. Now it's time to share my experience, knowledge, and passion about active living with those who are ready to make their next life-changing step, like I did a while ago. Challenge accepted?
Education
I don't teach yet. While looking for my first job in the industry, I keep working on my form by attending the gym 2-3 times a week, as well as working out at home and in the office. I like variety to keep it fun. I prefer resistance training. I find weight lifting (including your own body weight) crucial for building up strength and endurance. I am not a big fan of cardio training, but, realizing its high importance, I bike to work every day around 20 km in total.
