As a Yoga or Pilates Instructor, you will be responsible for planning and leading registered and/or drop-in fitness programs. Primary duties include:

Teach specific skills to participants through progressive physical fitness development and sharing of knowledge.
Develop the design, plan, and resources for the program.
Assess participant needs and provide adaptations as necessary.
Ensure safety of participants.
Prepare and maintain equipment, supplies, and program space.
Maintain program records and assist with program evaluation.

Requirements and qualifications

Minimum 18 years of age.
Yoga Alliance or recognized Yoga Certificate (Fitness Alberta Mind Body Specialty) with a minimum of 200 hours of Yoga training; OR
A minimum in Basic Mat Pilates training and 20 hours of practical teaching.
Previous leadership and instructional expertise in yoga or Pilates.
Level 2 Yoga Instructors require extensive leadership and instructional expertise in discipline.
Demonstrated ability in assessing participant needs and determining adaptations as necessary.
Strong communication skills along with demonstrated initiative, planning, and organizational skills.
Sound judgment in safety standards and well-developed customer service skills.

Current Intermediate First Aid certification (equivalent to Standard First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) level "C", and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)) is required. 
A valid Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Search must be provided. Date of completion must be within the last 12 months. 
Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Hours of work: This position works on-call hours based on
operational requirements.
