Job Details
The City of St. Albert is recruiting individuals to join our Recreation & Parks department as
Aquatics Fitness Instructors. Reporting to a Recreation Program Coordinator, this position will be
responsible for delivering Aquafit Classes to a wide range of clientele. Our team offers aquatic
fitness classes during the daytime, evening, and weekends year-round.
We are looking for individuals who are reliable, responsive to customer needs and excellent at
building relationships.

Hours of Work
Aquafit classes are held during the following times:
 

Fountain Park
- Summer: Monday – Friday, 8 – 9 am and 12 – 1 pm.
- Fall: Monday – Friday from 7 – 8 am, 8 – 9 am, 11 – 12 pm, 12 – 1 pm and 8 – 9 pm.
Saturdays from 8 – 9 am
 

Servus Place
- Fall: Monday – Friday from 7:30 – 8:15 am and 8:30 – 9:30 am
- Summer: Monday – Friday from 8 – 8:45 am and 9 – 10 am

Compensation
• The wage ranges from $34.00 - $46.00 per hour based on qualifications and experience.

Requirements and qualifications

Qualifications
• Aquatic Fitness Leadership Certification (Fitness Alberta or other).
• Current Standard First Aid Certification.
• Preference will be given to those with prior instruction experience.

Conditions of Employment
• The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of educational and professional
credentials.
• The successful applicant will be required to obtain a clear vulnerable sector police
information check.
