Aquatic Exercise
Learn how to teach safe, effective and fun group aquatic exercise classes for adults.
Delivered by qualified Fitness Alberta Educators, and informed by leading practice and research, this 20-hour course covers topics such as:
- principles of exercising in water
- effects of exercising in water on body movement
- safety in the water environment
- teaching to special populations
To register for this course we recommend that you are currently registered in, or have completed the Fitness Alberta Foundations in Physical Activity and Exercise course. (You do not have to have written your Foundations exam).

This 20 hour course covering topics specific to leading exercise classes in the water. Topics include: properties of water, class structure and content for both Deep and Shallow classes; planning, class components and exercise design, use of music, leadership and choreography; movement combinations, instruction and cueing. This course will be hosted at ACT aquatic centre.
